DRESS CODE POLICY
Marian High School (NTI Career Institute)
Marian High School (NTI Career Institute) promotes an atmosphere of respect, responsibility, and academic focus. The way students present themselves reflects their commitment to these values. The dress code ensures that attire is neat, modest, and appropriate for a productive learning environment.
General Guidelines
- Students must arrive at school in clean, well-maintained clothing suitable for an academic setting.- Clothing should not be distracting, revealing, or display any offensive, suggestive, or inappropriate language, symbols, or graphics.- Shoes must be worn at all times; no slippers, slides, or house shoes are permitted.- Hats, hoods, and head coverings are not to be worn inside classrooms or school offices unless for religious or medical reasons.- Undergarments must not be visible.- Clothing should not expose the midriff, chest, or undergarments.
Acceptable Attire
- Jeans, slacks, or modest-length shorts in good condition (no holes or tears).- Polo shirts, collared shirts, or school-branded tops.- Skirts or dresses of modest length (no shorter than 3 inches above the knee).- Closed-toe shoes or clean athletic footwear.
Unacceptable Attire
- Clothing that promotes alcohol, drugs, violence, or discriminatory language.- See-through or excessively tight garments.- Crop tops, tube tops, or spaghetti strap shirts.- Pajamas, sleepwear, or loungewear.- Sagging pants or shorts worn below the waist.
Special Events and Uniform Days
Students may be required to wear designated attire for school events, assemblies, field trips, or testing days. On such occasions, specific dress code instructions will be provided in advance.
Disciplinary Actions
Students who violate the dress code may be asked to change into appropriate clothing, contact parents for a replacement outfit, or face disciplinary measures in accordance with the Behavior Management Plan. Repeated violations may result in further consequences.
